Medical Relief: PPE, Matching Gifts, and ~390 Wheelchairs

EDTF’s Medical Relief Fund grew out of the COVID-19 response: $1.173M (98.09% of that campaign’s donations) went to PPE and medical items, with remaining balance transferred into the lasting MRF account.

A $500,000 matching campaign and Ministry of Health collaboration helped scale procurement for communities affected by conflict in Northern Ethiopia — with delivery in 20–25 days.

In partnership with Yebab Medical Center and the EDTF Atlanta chapter, ~390 wheelchairs moved through Modjo dry port. EDTF committed $16,000 for transport and duty-free clearance so mobility aid reached people who needed it.

Across the full portfolio, medical relief totals $1.67M+, with 4.6M+ PPE and supply units procured — care when communities needed it most.
