Gurmuu Development Association partnered with EDTF to foster primary education quality by improving school infrastructure across four Oromia woredas: Horro Gudru, Walmara, Debre Libanos, and Waliso.
New classroom blocks — including a two-classroom block at Abadho Jawe Primary serving 1,702 students — arrived with 400 combined desks and shallow well water facilities on campus.
Girl-only Menstrual Hygiene Management rooms in Wolmera Woreda helped keep female students in school. Girls’ dropout fell from 7% to 5%; enrollment and promotion rates rose 5%.
Altogether the effort supports 5,084 children — part of a portfolio that enrolled 11,745 new students nationwide.
