In Mille, Dewe, and Telalak woredas of the Afar Region, hard-to-reach pastoralist communities needed potable groundwater — for families and for the herds that sustain them.
A consortium led by Pro Development Network (with Give Water and Lemi Consulting) drilled wells, laid 12 km of distribution pipelines, built masonry reservoirs, and installed solar-powered pumps at 12 concrete water points.
The result: 9,636 people reached with safe water, 42,827 livestock supported, and 30 community water committee members trained to keep systems running.
WASH is not a side project at EDTF. Across the portfolio, 14 facilities were built and thousands more people reached through hygiene sessions and school water points.
